Latest project pictures

Post by Chuck 100 yd »

Here is my latest fun gun project.
I like two tones and enjoy doing the tinkering also.
Polish and fit SS grip frame and Ejector housing. Also SS pins and a spring kit
not to mention making a set of curley maple grips for it.
Ruger BH 4 5/8" .357 Fun and good shooters.

I still have 3 more Rugers that need new grips. Thinking.... What can I do to make them just a little different???

Griff, That is an idea.... I have owned a couple of colts, SAA and Python. Both bought new in `68` for $115 ea. They were very nice guns. Too bad they are so proud of them today.
Lets see... one Colt or three Rugers for the same money... What to do???

Have to admit I like the bright aluminum better than the dinged up "blacked" aluminum that most worn Blackhawks show. Sets off the bluing nicely!

I like those three Single Six variants a lot, too, especially the .22WRM Bisley. (Some folks don't seem to know that a Single Six .22 WRM cylinder is usually a drop-in fit on a Biz Single Six .22 LR....adds some serious smack!)

Mike , I fit Stainless grip frames to mine when doing a two tone. Polished aluminum is fine but still not JUST the right color for me.

Mike. Do you know Midway has 8 shot cylinders for the Single Six in both 22 Magnum and 22 LR calibers

Cuck, 1st thing I noticed are your grips. Is this the one with the auxiliary 9mm cylinder
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

3leggedturtle , No this one is just .357 The convertible is just like it though.
Actually I bought this one just to use as a project and of course to add to my collection. I have some more grips I want to make but cant make up my mind what kind of wood to use. I have lots of very high grade pieces I have horded away over the years. This retirement stuff cool. Now I can get some of my long awaiting projects done.

Oh, this is the convertible .357/9mm.

It has these Moose antler grips on it now.

Chuck,
Nice professional work! I tell 'ya, you got it down on making those grips. I'm sure you have had people tell you to do it for extra money, but.....like I have found out......when you do it for money, it ain't fun no more. Besides, there's always an idiot who complains.

Doing quality work always gives one a sense of great satisfaction.----6

Thanks for the compliments Six. And you are right about the fun going away when you have to do it.
I have turned down lots of stuff for that reason.

Thanks 'all' for the compliments. It is great to share with people who appreciate your efforts.

Marvelous craftsmanship there Chuck! I'm wondering now...would a hunting knife with a grip/handle matching the six-shooter be too fancy a rig??? Hmmm...
