I've got an extra barrel for my old 1886 33wcf and was thinking of having it rebored to 45-70. Does anyone know who could do it and relocate the existing sight? The idea would be to save the original barrel and let me shoot the (shortened) 45-70 for a few seasons.
Thanks,
tw

Bet that rifle has a few tales to tell. I like the way its been altered and carved. JES Reboring will do it.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Thanks! I didn't know if JES would relocate the front sight base or not.
Don't know about relocating sight, just answered the r+r part. Have the selective reading button pushed today.

Gotta agree with you there, Amigo. The least productive thing I can think of in terms of that beauty is a 45-70 bore! But that's just me. It's your rifle....
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a Vet! COMNAVFORV, Vietnam 68-70

Most of the time, these 'urges' pass pretty quickly but this is recurring. On the other topic, I haven't been known for reason or productivity since leaving the Navy. Wonder if there's any correlation
I reckon since the rifle belongs to you, go ahead and send him an email and get the ball rolling. I have a 1974 94 30-30 he rebored to 38-55 and it sure is a sweet shooter.
