Crescent City
Only made it to C.C. tonite.only had like75 miles to go but why push it. Besides I saw a Pawn shop just down the road andit was closed. Bu I'll bet it is open in the morning. Pretty uneventful day, had lunch at seven Feathers. I got to a little place called Sunny Valley Or where one of My Cousins lives. I stopped at a little store that We stpped at once before to give Him a call, turns out He was in Grants Pass headed to Denver wih an Excavator. So I wont get to see Him on this trip either.
Time for bed. I'll check in tomorrow before hitting theroad again.

Re: Crescent City
All I have known is 7 Feathers. We stopped for lunch 3 years ago and the Buffet was closed but They were having a Chili cookoff in the parking lot so guess what We had for lunch. The Buffet is still closed. I asked Securty about it and He said people were loading their plates and taking food home so they had to close. I have watched in all Buffets and people that think they r being sneaky drop food into Purses and bags.
Now on the same note I remember when Boomtown was Bill and Effies.

Re: Crescent City
First time in Crescent City was late 60s on family vacation going up the coast. The beach there was still lined with maybe five feet of driftwood - maybe a half mile of the stuff - the type folks give an arm and leg for nowdays...all left over from the tsunami from the 64 (?) Alaska quake. We shoulda rented a trailer! Gorgeous neck of the woods up there - between the Northern California and Oregon coastline and redwoods. The whole area the perfect antedote to the Arizona summer.
Thanks a lot - reminded me I'm overdue a trip up yonder - but not in the current budget. Time for adjustments!

Re: Crescent City
Grants Pass to Denver, that's a nice long haul, especially if he's got a wide load and pilots.

Oh yes. Used to stop there when I was running loads of Liquid Oxygen. Lots of accts in Or. rouge valley hosp. Ashland community, Medford Steel, Coos Bay Welding, Over the hump for aviators O2 at Kingsley field. And several more. This was in the mid '80's to early '90's. Used to stop at Heaven on Earth when it was good.BlaineG wrote:Seven Feathers is another favorite of mine.......Does anyone remember when it was Fat Harvey's?

Depending when that was, you might have dealt with Jim Lawrence, a Forumite that passed a couple years ago....jcw wrote:Oh yes. Used to stop there when I was running loads of Liquid Oxygen.
