A whole new level of stupid.
I've been to this theater. All I can say is this was not a very well thought out promotion, and the "actor" is lucky a CCW holder didn't turn his head into a canoe.

What a bunch of idiots. I can't imagine how that would be entertaining. I'm as pro gun and pro constitution as anybody. It's morons like these who cause us to have to fight for our rights.

He might have been hit on the head with a brolly in the UK but I guess he was lucky the stunt didn't end up with more serious consequences....
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
Re: A whole new level of stupid.
Whom did the fellow threaten with his toys?
Did he 'brandish' the props as if to use them?
Did he call anybody an 'azz-bag' or ask anyone "Whadda you lookin' at?"
Keeping the Aurora thing in mind for all the PC folk, how was the guy threatening other than the fact that he was dressed funny and 'looked' armed?
Haven't seen the movie, so I don't really understand the gist of the stunt.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Very STUPID stunt, glad I was not there. Brandishing or not it should have caused others to brandish during an arrest.
It is not the critic who counts
Re: A whole new level of stupid.
There could have been a worse outcome.....Por Exemple, I could have been there and put him on the floor until the cops got there..Elsie P might have slapped the stuff out of him..

Very poor decision on the theaters part and in very poor taste. The phrase "looks like a duck" comes to mind. Could easily have ended with a dead duck.

You know, it's illegal to yell "fire" in a theater for a reason. The panic that can result can and has resulted in injury and death to innocent folks. If this isn't akin to yelling "fire" I don't know what is. It seems to me that someone needs to take a serious look at the individual that made the decision, and deal with him in an appropriate manner.

Re: A whole new level of stupid.
And if an armed off duty LEO happened to be there and taken action what would have happened to mr actor if he had flinched wrong? Who'd be getting sued over that one?

Re: A whole new level of stupid.
It is not illegal to shout "Fire!" in a theater. It is illegal to falsely shout "Fire!" in a theater. If one detected a fire and did not sound an alarm they might be subject to charges of criminal negligence.
Re: A whole new level of stupid.
You're right of course, but I'm pretty sure the folks around here are smart enough to figure out what I meant. On the other hand, if you're smart, you won't yell fire in a theatre until you are standing by the exit, and you make darned sure the exit will actually open, because lots of folks in theatres aren't smart and will panic and trample anyone or anything in their way.BAGTIC wrote:It is not illegal to shout "Fire!" in a theater.
