.577 Trex

750 gr solid with a mv of 2473 fps according to "Cartridges of the world". 10,180 foot pounds of energy. They say when chambered in a 13 pound rifle with properly designed stock and THREE mercury recoil suppressors, recoil is less punishing than the Weatherby 460. Gee, where do I sign up  I think I found my new prairie dog rifle

I own a 600 Nitro Express double rifle. It is a bone breaker to shoot. If I shoot a Ground Hog with it, the hog will be swept away or at least the red cloud of goo, in to the next county.

I just picked up a Remington 700 C in 300 Reminton Ultra Mag. I bought this rifle for elk hunting a fair range, beyond 100 yards. I am willing to admit that this rifle will hurt when I pull the trigger, but isn't bigger better?
