Load/buy more ammo.

18 rounds isn't even close to "enough"...?

Bob,

On the serious side, go to the local gun ranges and / or shooting places out in the boonies and pick up any brass you find. Sort it. Good stuff sell it, junk - take it to the recyclers.
Take a shovel and rake and clean up the lead left behind for casting.
Check out the local gun stores for brass or range lead.

Buy a Lee Loader
Buy a Lee bullet mold
Buy a lead pot and dipper
Hunt down some lead, wheel weights or other wise to cast
Buy some primers
Buy some powder

It doesn't cost a mega fortune to make ammo.

I do have a plank in my eye, how did you know. :o
Why, then, do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to extract the splinter from your eye’; when, look! a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First extract the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the splinter from your brother’s eye.

Go sight in with 6 rounds (2 groups of 3) then pop some razorbacks with the remaining 12.

Good sugestion, now I have something to do, thanks.
Actually, I load all of my .45/70s with a "Classic Lee Loader". You should be able to find one for less than $30. Lee makes some good .45/70 molds, but IMO the "best" is still the Lyman 457122 "Gould" 320gr HP. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.

Pick a powder based on the LEE paperwork with the die set and you're golden.

If you have a hunting license, see how much a public land permit costs - maybe get that and go do some hog hunting on public land - if they've got em in season. In Texas, they actually do have seasons on them in the public areas....

18 round is plenty for that! And then, you won't be so jaded and weary :P

I am neither bored, nor board, or bord; or however it's spelled! I'm sitting waiting for the phone to ring to go back to work... and sorting thru my hundred or so emails I get every day. I need to get out to the barn and set up my new sander... drill a couple of holes in my stock and get the wood done on my project gun. But, I'm afraid I'll miss that all important "get to work" call! If I don't hear by 5pm, I'm taking the weekend off and getting all the above done, cast some boolits, load some ammo and maybe, just maybe take a few shots with the semi-finished project 1894!!!!! Then I can start on the metal work to make it a Widder'mAJik!!!! Then it needs one dovetail recut... and a front sight dovetail cut and it'll finally be stripping it back down, and sending out the parts to be refinished!

Well if you are married, tell the wife you are don't have anything to do. They like that, seeking advise. Or follow her around pointing out what she is doing wrong, I guarantee you won't be board very long. Just some helpful hint from someone who is not married. ATB

Hey Griff - I don't know if you've heard yet... but they got these new things - they're called "cell phones" or "mobile phones"... you can take the darn things with you out to the barn and never miss a call!! :P

Seriously, you can roll your house phone over to your cell too.... or just call em and change your number to the cell number.

I think Griff is doing it the right way... don't give 'em your cel #... make 'em use the house phone... at least you can get away from the house phone..... just my opinion.. Les

Naw, I like to stay in touch with this agent... @ 3$/mile (that I keep), her loads are worth working thru the weekend for. I'd committed to haulin' one if she get it... so at precisely 4pm I called and checked in. She said to have a nice weekend, she'd talk to me Monday!

Nope, went out to the barn... set up the new belt sander and took down the forend on my Project 1894. Went and drilled the tang screw hole... then to drill the starter holes for the buttplate... That drill was a tad rundown... looked around for the spare battery or the charger! Grrr... Like that rare metal... unobtanium, nowhere to be found!

So, it's back to confinement on the couch... with sand paper in hand to do the final sanding on the forend. This is gonna be one handy little rifle!

Nope, no casting done... figured I had to save something to do on SUNDAY.

Bob- go out amd shoot all those rounds off SLOWLY and enjoy! Instant gratification CAN be therapeutic :D
Then worry about reloading them when the high wears off!
