Going to the ranch tomorrow for a little fun.

Post by rangerider7 »

My wife told me to get out of the house, for awhile, and see the guys. She is doing pretty good, four down and eight more chemo treatments to go. It is taking a little longer each time to feel decent but she is a trooper facing it straight on. I will go and see how the hunters are doing and have our annual "John Wesley Hardin" shoot off. We place playing cards at ten paces and fire three shots. The best grouping gets about fifty dollars. The best card is signed and put on the bulletin board for the rest of the year. You have to use a centerfire SA handgun. It's a blast. Here's the rig I use. Wish me luck! Prayers for my wife. Thanks, RR7

That's just lovely.

Good Luck to you!

rr - It sounds like your missus is on the comeback trail. That's great news.

Good luck to you in your shoot. I like that idea of the JWH shoot. Didn't you have a post a while back about an auction of one of his old (perforated) business cards ?

Hope you win this year's honors. - DixieBoy

Prayers continuing for Mrs RR7 and best wishes for the "John Wesley Hardin" shoot off.

That's an interesting old rig you have for the competition, looking forward to a report, with photos if possible.

RR7, healing prayers for the wife. I finished my 12 chemo treatments in April. Tests since then all have been fine. If our Lord can heal this old sinner I know that He can heal her also!
Prayers also up for you in your support role! This will make a huge difference to her, knowing you are there for her!
Good luck with your shooting, and yep, show us pics of your winning card!
I love seeing pics of your old gear. Keep collecting and posting pics! :D

Sounds like a great time, Pard. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. I'm still doin' chemo and have since late May. Reduced and lighter poison at this point, but my white cell count won't rise. Chemo will knock out the cancer, yet has negative effects of your parts.

I hope you enjoy your day. It sounds as if a little leisure time is well deserved. Prayers sent for you and the wife, and Mike D I threw you into the mix for that White Cell count to come up.

Well I didn't do too well but we had a great time. I haven't had time to practice too much lately. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I didn't think about taking a camera but will next year. We thumbtack the cards the on a tree outside the barn. When I won a few of years ago I framed them for the fun of it. If there is a tie we go from 3 shots to 2 to one until someone wins. It's a blast. Thanks, RR7
