Engraved Rossi question

Post by Gabby »

Hi guys, I have a Rossi I bought at auction a dozen years ago. It is engraved with feathers. I've been lurking here for some time and haven't seen one like it. I was just wondering if you have or seen one similar. Thanks.

Yes, that was an upgrade Rossi offered back in the 80's. To me it looks more like leafs, oak leafs sorta. it may have been a roll engraved technique. Hard to say.

But they did offer a more traditional hand engraved gun as well.

Thanks for the replies. Steve I thought they were leaves at first also but they have a lot of lines coming off the shaft so I figured they must be feathers. This rifle also has a metal follower, would that support the 80's date as well? I've often wondered the year. Thanks.Image
