Marlin 1894C / CS

There are two different types of carriers for these guns (New style and Old style), will either work in the C / CS model variations? Anyone know the cutoff for the old style and when the new style took over date wise? I have an 1894CS that was mfg in 1989, and was thinking about getting an extra carrier for just in case. Thanks in advance.

Ya want the new style regardless. Because of dimensional variances in the guns, it may require fitting.
