I just finished some work on my Marlin 336 converting it from a round barrel to octagonal and a curved lever to a straight lever.

I converted my second Marlin from round to Octagon and from pistol grip to straight.

is there a hanger for the mag tube under the barrel? Or are you just using the forend cap and front vertical screw to hold it in?

I ask because im waiting for the replacement hanger for my winchester that I broke but wouldnt mind shooting it while I wait.

there is a drilled and tapped dovetail cut into the underside of the muzzle on the barrel. the tip of the magazine screws into this dovetail. Without this screw, thec magazine tube would be ejected by the magazine spring. It is the only fixture holding it there.

Finally got the proper straight lever from the fellow in Canada..........Installed it and it works perfectly..........I like it!

Excellent piece of work. I like the after better than the before.
And to have one's first rifle back is something special.
Looking forward to seeing it when all the metal finishing is done.

Do you work on others weapons? Im in CT and will need someone to silver solder a magazine hanger onto my 94 when I get the part in. I just moved here and dont really have a gunsmith.

Sorry, I only work on my own guns. This is just a hobby for me. And soldering is my worse ability. Never quite got the hang of it.
