I found a new toy yesterday.

Post by Chuck 100 yd »

While at my local dealer`s picking up my new Vaquaro`s in .357
I spied a new Ruger new mod.Single Six in the display case.
It is bright SS with Wood grips, 6 1/2" barrel and fixed sights.
And is convertible .22 / .22mag. Cant wait until Tuesday so I can pick it up!! SOOOOO SWEET !

I am told this model was a special run. I got the picture from Davidsons (sp.) web site.

Chuck, I agree with you, the fixed sight model looks alot better than the adjustable sight single six. God Bless.

Elmer Keith said scopes have no place on hand guns. So there!

I love mine. I'll never sell it. The .22mag is prolly too expensive to plink with, but find out where she hits because you're going to be surprised at the power you have in a rimfire handgun.

What I have noticed about my Rugers is that after about a thousand rounds, they start to smooth up nicely. A .22lr/.22 Mag convertable is on my future list. Congratulations on a nice gun.

Nice gun! I am a very late comer to a single action .22 - having just purchased a like-new 25 year. old convertible SS--in relatively uncommon 4-5/8" (at least it took me awhile to "happen upon" this one--they all seemed to be 5.5+). The 7.5, especially in fixed sight, really is unique! I've got .32s and 44 Specials, .357s and .44 Mags. The lil' .22 is a hoot and has now formed a three way tie for favorite with the .32s and .44 Special.

I chrono'ed some 22 mags out of SS with a 6.5" bbl, this saturday. WW 45gr Dynapoints averaged 1250-1270 FPS the WW 40gr Super-X HP's were 1350-1370 FPS. Federal 36gr HP's did 1050 FPS and yes i switched cylinders A'FORE anyone mentions it :P Nice pistol BTW really the stainless with wood grips
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
