Sep 11 on History Channel
I had never seen the film of President Bush in the classroom until just this moment. When Card comes out and whispers into his ear, he doesn't move. But the look that comes into his eyes.

He did the right thing but it was mis-represented as was a lot of what he did so far as the GWOT went.

Re: Sep 11 on History Channel
I remember rolling my eyes at the tv that morning when Peter Jennings kept complaining that Bush had yet to return to DC. I have to speculate that at that point he was virtually captive to his advisors, especially the military and security advisors. They would have to have been adamant that he go elsewhere.

Yeah, & just suppose FLT93 had made their mission & struck the White House, when he was there? C'mon............you know the media was gunning for him anyway, that's why they criticized how he responded to the intell. Do you think they would've done the same thing if it'd happened in the Eisenhower, or Kennedy, or Clinton admins? Don't make me laugh! I'd like to line all them leftist media types up against a wall & you know what for treason!

Look up in a dictionary the definition of "anal sphincter", and I think there is a picture of Peter Jennings, and a few of his fellow mainstream 'journalists'...Otto wrote:I remember rolling my eyes at the tv that morning when Peter Jennings kept complaining that Bush had yet to return to DC.

Amazing...my wife and I were watching the same program and she just said the same thing, almost word for word, a few hours ago. Watching that footage...you get a new perspective every time you watch it. The sound of the bodies hitting the pavement I had never heard before either....fills one full of rage and grief all at the same time.Otto wrote:I had never seen the film of President Bush in the classroom until just this moment. Re: Sep 11 on History Channel
One of the few occasions the POTUS can simply be overuled, is one like this. His security detail went into plan immediately - just as they are trained, and just as they should have done. Keep leaders (POTUS, VPOTUS, Speaker, etc. were all wisked to safe - and separate - shelters. This is not out of fear. You don't put all your leadership in one spot to be hit. You'd think even the MSM would understand this basic fact, but their outright hatred for W. clouded all reporting - throughout his entire presidency...

We, firefighters and LEOs, later saw several uncut films that were never made available for public viewing. The number of victims that died from jumping from the buildings is in the hundreds. The first firefighter killed on 9/11, Danny Suhr, was struck by a falling body.C. These films were censored because the media, and the FCC, thought the American people would be too filled with rage for the welfare of Islamic persons in the U.S. IMHO they should have been shown, and still be shown, daily on the news just so everyone actually knows what many of those victims went thru.

Thanks for that reference....did not know that story of Danny Suhr. God Bless him and all those who gave their lives for us on that day. A heartfelt thanks to you and those like you!firefuzz wrote:We, firefighters and LEOs, later saw several uncut films that were never made available for public viewing. Wonder if those films will be playing at the Ground Zero Mosque. More importantly, if they are, would people be mortified... or cheering?firefuzz wrote:We, firefighters and LEOs, later saw several uncut films that were never made available for public viewing. I have two photos of people falling from the towers on my political blog in an article published in 2007. It is the single most accessed page and those are the most downloaded photos. My cousin, whose office window faced the twin towers, sounds like a combat vet when he talks about it. IOW, his words and tone exhibit the same combination of horror, compassion, respect, and pity that I've heard from veterans of WWI and later when they talk about others who had to make such decisions.firefuzz wrote:We, firefighters and LEOs, later saw several uncut films that were never made available for public viewing.
