TEXAS HUNT with Mr. Riekers

Post by Chris8866 »

Hello Guys, finally able to access my son and current levergun member Chris's email. My laptop has not been in working condition fo rthe last two months. As I am not a tech guy my son in law has been working to restore power. Cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the Texas Hunt that has been so graciously provided by Leverguns.com

We hunt in an area that allows only shotgun and Black Powder so I do not currently own my own levergun but am looking at purchasing one soon. One of the first guns I ever had was an older beat up 30 30 when I was about 13 years old.

When I was a boy I was always amazed at how fast the cowboys could shoot the levers lightning quick in the old western movies. I was hooked.

Anyway, I know it will depend on what animals are available at the time of the hunt in February but if anice ram is available... who knows. Looking forward to meeting my fellow levergunner from Hawaii and making some life long friends and memories.

I hope to be on the blog more often when my LT is in better working order but also hope to share some pics of the hunt. Who knows.. maybe I'll even get a shot at a nice javelina as well.

Words can't express - Terry - God Bless

Thank you for the kind words guys.

My son and I are planning a hunt together to Texas sometime in the near future, not sure when but hopefully soon. I hope I get the chance to meet some more of you down there in the future.

Chris8866, are you anywhere near Central Pennsylvania? If so, you can use my .30-30 or 32 Spl for the hunt.

Thank you for the more than generous offer. Im just a liitle far from you plus I would feel horrible if something happened to any of your weapons. J. Riekers is allowing me to use one of his weapons when I get down there or one of my friends up here in Buffalo will loan me one. Extemely generous of you though. Terry B.

Terry B., I'll be driving to the hunt and am going to bring extra rifles and handguns. You, or anyone else, are welcome to them. I haven't decided with to bring but probably bring my BLR 358, marlin 1895 CB 45-70, marlin 1894 357. I also could bring a Win94 in 32 ws, and a EMF 92 in 45 colt if you would like.

I will have my 30-30 Trapper along and a couple handguns. I don't mind if someone wants to use any of my guns.
