Vegas gun show

Post by win40-82 »

I and 2 other buddies took in the gun show over the weekend. It took 2 days to see all of the tables. It wasn't that there were so many tables but EVERY table had great stuff on it. I've never seen so many Henry rifles in one place. It was a feast for the eyes, so many great lever guns. Winchester, Marlins, Savage, Henry's, Whitney Kennedy's, you name it and there was one there. Lots of double rifles and shotguns. Winchester model 70's, even had one in 25-35 of which there were only 10 made. Colt pistols of every vintage. I got to handle an authenic Colt Walker, it's a one huge pistol. There were 3 of them there, the one I got to handle was 85K. The othere two were 125K and 250K. Didn't get to bring any home but sure was fun seeing them and will be going back next year.

What gun show was it?
I have about given up on gun shows and no longer pay any attention to them.
It would be nice to go to a good one.
Do you live around Vegas?

They are worth the visit.

I happened to be in Vegas, a few years back, co-incidentally with the big show at the Riveira - And, there was a custom knife show across the street/strip at Circus-Circus that same day !

I have been to the Vegas show but have been to the Winchester & Colt Collectors show in Cody, Wy. and in the middle of March is the Timonium Show in Maryland. I go to that one every year, and like 40-82 says, its amazing to see so many beautiful antique guns under one roof.

I would say these shows are a must for the collector as you get to see guns just about exactly as they looked in their day. You learn the blueing, stock finishes, sights, and of course, their current price, which dismays you if you are broke but brightens you up if you got the bucks or a gun like it at home-------------Sixgun
