I've wound up here quite a bit more than Marlinowners, probably because the threads aren't so segregated here. If I've a question about a .444 elk-hunting load feeding in my XLR, I never know whether to post it on the 'big bore' section, the 'reloading' one, the 'hunting' section, the '444' section, the '336' section, or what. Same if I'm just looking for information - where to look? Here it's all together.

Leverguns also has some fun 'off topic' posts that I find interesting, on welding, trains, plumbing, history, etc. Some folks don't like those 'OT' posts, but I learn lots of stuff from them. (Most levergun owners tend to share very similar other intersts and hobbies.) We did separate off the 'political' ones though, which seems to be a good idea, since there are times I log on to get 'cheered up' by reading about leverguns, not 'brought down' by reading about gun control. Other times I do my share, though, and spend some time there as well.

Anyway, both forums have lots of nice info. Welcome, and we hope you post some pics of those Marlins...! 8)

Welcome! Things are a bit faster moving over here. I visit Marlin owners about once a week and many times it just has not moved at all. I know it takes participation to do that but just more happening over here. Enjoy ! :D

Just being 'old' or just being 'fancy' doesn't make a gun useful or even special. Sounds like yours do the job they were intended for.

Nice to see someone unafraid to put a red dot scout on a levergun.

I also really like that leather cartridge carrier. What kind is it...?

Oh yeah - nice to see you had the sense to get a REAL 'big bore' gun (.444 Marlin) instead of one of those unmentionable hyphenated ones.

[...one of the more FUN things here on leverguns is lobbing the ".444 vs. .45-70" smoke bomb into the crowd and watching the ruckus...   ]
