A member on AR15.com's Levergun forum posted this part way down on the 3rd page.
"I have a Winchester model 92 first year production. Only 5 serial numbers, octagon barrel carbine (custom order) in .32 WCF. I will be selling once I get it appraised. It will be for sale only on this site at first. I have been told its worth 10,000-23,000. I was also told it was only worth 700-1000. So I need to get it appraised. The Cody Museum confirmed it is first year production."
His handle is 'm200maker' and you might want to keep and eye on ARFCOM for a while to see what comes of this.
