OT: The Saints wanted the win more than the Colts...
It just seemed to me watching the game that the Saints were prepared to do whatever was needed to win that game. And so it went...

Can't say I blame them. IIRC, it was their first trip to the Superbowl, and to win it to boot. That probably set a first, along with the Saints field goal kicker, kicking 3 over 40yds.

Probably the best played game I can remember by both teams. What a match. I didn't favor either since I'm an Eagles fan but I really enjoyed the game.

I enjoyed it. I am not a fan of either team, but I saw a good game, and for the most part, a clean game. Congratulations to both teams.

Awesome game. Not a fan of the Saints but I am a Chargers fan stuck in Indiana so I am happy.

I had the Saints +4.5 points. I can now afford to build my next project which is gonna be an 8mm Rem mag stainless/synthetic bolt gun. Go Drew Brees!!!!
Re: OT: The Saints wanted the win more than the Colts...
I love it when the underdog wins...
Saints wanted it more....
and the on side kick was a great call
it changed the momentum to the saints...
after that, it only took one mistake...the interception
too close the deal...

Yeah, the on-side kick was the most obvious indication of their desire - their willingness to gamble on a play like that.
I would've picked the Colts to win though before the game...

Re: OT: The Saints wanted the win more than the Colts...
I don't think it's fair to say that one team wanted to win more than the other team BUT the Saints sure as heck outplayed the Colts. That on-side kick was pretty daring and caught the Colts completely off guard.
It didn't have anything to do with the game but one of the most memorable moments for me for this Super Bowl will be the few moments shown of the interaction between Breez and his 1-year old son after the game.

Agree--- its the Super Bowl. Both teams wanted the win. I didnt really have a dog in the fight, but was hoping for a Colts win. But it was a great way to officially put the cap on this football season and i smile thinking about what those cajuns are doing down in the bayou now. Normally i would say that in pro sports, superior skill trumps emotions 85% of the time, but that still leaves a 15% chance.
I had the misfortune of being in a Buffalo Wild Wings in Hammond, LA a few years back while LSU was playing somebody --- when they won, the scene turned into the wildest show on earth real quick - Cajuns were knocking each other down and ripping their shirts off in the restaurant ! (the men )
If This is the display i saw in what should have been a mild mannered sports bar type place, i can only imagine what the French Quarter was like last night

The Colts were out-coached, pure and simple!
