Friend and levergunner Ron Baker passed away on Christmas

Post by LEVERS4ME »

Local gun collector and friend, Ron Baker passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours on Christmas day. I had come to know Ron from long visits at the local gun shop. He was an intense listener and story teller who was born in 1942. Ron had a great collection of old west firearms including many lever actions and single-action colts. He was originally from Montana and always ready with a great gun story. His son Brandon is well equipped to carry on with the enthusiasm and knowledge imparted on him by his father. Ron's funeral was held yesterday and he will be missed greatly by anyone lucky enough to have known him...

Sorry to hear this indeed. Prayers sent.

Sorry for your loss - and that of Ron's family.

Not to be indelicate, but I'm curious. Isn't this a bit long between one's death and the funeral?

1942 - which means he was 65-66 when he passed. That is WAY too young!!!

Sorry for the loss of your friend, Sir......He looks familiar; Did he have tables at the Puyallup Fairground gun shows?

Ysabel Kid,

Yes,
I wondered the same thing when I got the news.
It was supposed to be held the prior weekend and I did not hear about any reason for delay of the service.

I know he attended the show in Puyallup on a regular basis with his son. Not certain if he had a table, but wouldn't be surprised.

Thanks to all who have sent condolences and prayers. It's always tough to lose a friend and so unexpectedly makes it even more so. I have seen his son since his dad passed away and the boy is doing pretty well considering the loss of his father. He has a deep interest and developing knowledge of firearms old and new. Last time I saw him, he was testing out the trigger on a Colt 1911  His father would very proud of the young man.

Kindest regards,

Heath
