Post by 1886 »

Anyone have a Centennial, 1978, B 92 .44 mag? Have you slugged the bore? Can you share your findings please? Thanks. 1886.

I used to have one, & if IIRC, mine slugged out to .431-1/2. As you may already have found out, the rifling appears to be similar to Marlin's Micro-Groove rifling. I had the barrel trimmed to 16" & even after that, I was able to group my load, which was 21grs of H110 under a Hornady 265FP, designed for the .444, into 1-1/2" @ 100yds off the bench, your slugging results might be different, tho, so I suggest you do yours. BTW, I'd be interested to know what your dimension turns out to be, & if my memory is accurate. Thanx, jd45

I have one that is unfired, for sale. Why would the groove diameter be any different on the centennial than the standard?

Some Centennial parts are dimensional different from the parts on the later released "standard"...

Manufacturing tolerances also play a part in the variations.

Hobie,

...That's interesting. Do you remember, off hand, which parts were different?
