OT: Prayer Request-Thank you and update

Post by J Miller »

Tomorrow at 0945 I'll be in the hospital getting the prostate biopsy. I've been told it shouldn't take more than 45 minutes but the idea of having a tool shoved up my butt and needles stuck in that already overly sensitive prostate does not thrill me at all.
Tonight I take the first of three $13.00 each anti biotics and do an enema .... :o . I've never had an enema in my life. Oh well, I'll have my wife do it  , really I'll have to as my spine is so locked up due to the arthritis I can't twist enough to do it myself.

So if you guys can say a prayer or three that the techs and doctors do this procedure right and there's no complications, I'd appreciate it.

If all goes well, I'm going to the range Wednesday to finish a couple projects and just relax a bit.

Thanks

Joe

You're in my prayers, Joe, for your biopsy but mostly for the results. I can tell you first hand that a prostate biopsy procedure is 95% anxiety and 5% no big deal. You'll be amazed at how simple and painless a procedure this really is! Good Luck, big guy. Hey, maybe the doc is a 94 fan!!!

Mod71alaska, you are absolutely right. The biopsy proceedure wasn't too awful bad. I took maybe 45 minutes for the prep and biopsy. The hard part was a screaming muscle in my right side. I pulled it somehow yesterday at my loading bench. And no sleep last night. Just could not get to sleep.
The results should be in within 5 days then I know what's what. The doctors did say the prostate looked normal, but was on the small side.

Thanks for all the prayers for me and my wife.

She just made me a nice omelet for me and as soon as I eat it and check the forum I'm going back to bed.

Joe,

I just saw this and prayed for you, only to find your last posting (at 0945 - ???) that the biopsy was over and no big deal (which I would have also told you - had my prostate surgery Sept. 19th!). But I've also prayed that God would touch you and that there will be no cancer.

Blessings to your helpmate and sweetheart as well. My wife kept insisting that I go in for that annoying procedure, and she is now attributed with saving my life. Shame on me for grumbling at her.

Sorry, I have to do this - can't help it - I have to praise a good wife. Mebbe you'll want to share this with your loved one:

Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: "Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all."
(Pro 31:10-29)

Bless you, Mrs. Miller. Bless you, Mrs. deFresno.

John,

I had my times wrong. The biopsy was actually at 0915. I was walking out of the room at about 1000.

Just saw this Joe. What ever you find out at least you will know how it is.I got the call from my doctor and had 8 weeks of radiation in 2003. Now cancer is gone and last PSA a month ago was 0.12, praise the Lord, He can handle it.

Just saw the post. Glad to hear the procedure went without incident. I'll be praying everything turns out okay. Your wife deserves a big hug as giving someone else an enema isn't on the cool list.
