Best Keith cast bullets
Who sells the best (closest to Keith's design) cast bullets in .44 and .45 calibers?

I have heard some good things about these bullets too, however I've not tried them yet.

I hope to have a range report Saturday on the .431 Mt. Baldy 250 Gr. Keiths over 7.0 gr of Unique. Gonna shoot them in my Super Blackhawk and Flat Top. Hobie has some reports on these bullets on his blog if I remember correctly.
I don't know how accurate a copy of a Keith it is, but I am VERY
satisfied with bullets ordered from Montana Bullet Works.

I've been recomending the Black River Bullets because of several criteria.
>They are well filled out. Very few rounded edges.
>The lube he uses is not soft and squishy nor is it the hard waxy crayon stuff.
>I've loaded them in the .45 Colt at several power levels. From standard pressure; 7.5 grs of 231 or 8.0grs Unique, moderate pressure; 9.0grs Unique, to warm pressure; 18.5grs of 2400. None of these load produced leading of any significance.
>I've only loaded the .357's with 13.5grs of 2400, but I've loaded them to lengths for my S&W Mdl 28; seated to and crimped over the front driving band, and my OM BH; seated to and crimped into the crimp grove.
They have shot well.
>JoeD will make them to your hardness specification, within reason. He did the last two batches for me in 16-1 Lead tin alloy. That's the alloy Elmer Keith mentioned the most if I remember correctly.
He will also made them hard, and I "think" he'll do an allow that's about the same as wheel weights.
>His prices have been fairly reasonable compared to some other casters I've bought from.
Now, I have to admit that because of my vision I haven't tested them at more than 25 yards, and that wasn't a good test.
With my glasses on I can see the target clearly, but I cannot see my sights. With my non prescription safety glasses I can see my sights, but I can't see the target past 7 to 10 yards clear enough to shoot groups.
I recently got one of those adjustable diopters that snap on your glasses to help me see my sights. That will help me shoot better and wring these bullets out.
And of course I don't have a chronograph, so I really don't know how fast they are going.
Hopes this helps some.
