Wanna see a Marlin 336 LTS?

Post by 1886 »

Thought some of you may enjoy this little beauty I stumbled onto today. She is a model 336 LTS .30-30 with a 16.25" barrel. I think they were made for about 2yrs. from 1988-89 with less than 2700 units built. Serial # has LTS as a prefix. I have seen only one before, it was beat and absurdly priced. 1886.

I like that one. Might even forgive that bump on the bottom of the receiver.
Kind regards,

That's a fine looking carbine.

Nifty Carbine.

I'd love one like that in .35 Rem.

Me too! I have heard they were chambered in .35 Rem. but I can not be certain. I found a minty Marauder about 18 months ago but it was a .30-30. I have found several Texans but they were all .30-30s. The .35s are elusive to be sure. I had to build one but it is a pistol grip. 1886.

that's perfect.

is the forearm standard carbine length or is it scaled down? it looks to me like it's maybe a little shorter than the RC forearm.

now I have to take a hacksaw to a handful of Marlins...

It looks scaled down but I have not measured it. Seems to compliment the barrel length nicely. 1886.

Been looking for a beater to have cut down to trapper length. Think that would be the cat's behind!

I passed on a Marauder at an auction 10-12 years ago not knowing what it was for $150!
Still kicking myself over that!

Very nice looking rifle. These are just about as rare as Marauders and every bit as handy. Good find!

Nothing wrong with the bump on the bottom of the receiver -- IT'S JUST IN THE WRONG PLACE, AND IT'S TOO BIG. AND IT'S ON A MARLIN. Other than that...
