Need help with a 94BB

Post by Brasso »

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's been a long time since I posted here. I recently picked up a 94BB in 375win and now I have a parts problem. The rifle had a scope mount attached to it which I took off. Now there are 3 holes in the left side of the receiver and my firing pin falls out when the action is opened and neither will it fully engage when closed. I'm guessing this has something to do with the missing screws. Problem is that I don't have a parts diagram. The 3 missing screws include the large screw at the top left side and the two smaller screws also on the top left side. Sorry, I don't know the technical names. Can anyone help me out with identifying the correct part numbers and where I can order replacements?

I think the big screw is the "Finger Lever Pin Stop Screw". I don't know the name of the other two but I think the part number is the same for both "2994". Will the missing "big" screw be what's causing the firing pin to fall out and the action not close all the way (the guts are still partially hanging out the bottom when the bolt is fully forward)?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob,

Most likely the Finger Lever Pin is missing too. That's what holds the lever into the bolt and it and the lever retain the firing pin in the bolt.

These parts are the same as the standard 94AE models. Give a Browning a call and order them.
You can download the 2008 catalog from their on line site. It's a fairly big .pdf file.

If the two smaller screws are towards the rear of the receiver they are simply 6x48 threaded holes for the receiver sight. Normal plug screws will work. If they are not those then you'll have to find out what size they are go from there.

Can you post pics?

Thank you very much!

I'll order them first thing.
