OT MY FRIEND AIN'T GOT LONG.

Post by JerryB »

Well boys, we have been home a hour and I have been sitting here reading and not wanting to write but I have to. We left home at 6:00am and drove to Salem MO about 4 hours north. My cousin's wife called yesterday afternoon to say Wayne has 2 or 3 days left.He is saved by the Blood of Christ and is ready to go but I don't want let go yet. He has sure killed more than his share of deer and turkeys with a Winchester 1897 12ga and 2 old Winchester 94 30-30s. I know that I'll see him before long but it still hurts. Gotta quit now, thanks.

Prayers said to ask for your comfort and for all others concerned. He will live in your memory just like my friend Mike lives in the memories of all who knew him.

Very sorry to hear Jerry B. Taking my best bud/Christian mentor out to lunch here tommorow and he was diagnosed with terminal cancer last week. It really shakes you down to the core....but it will make more sense soon. Prayers up!

The thing about our loved ones is that even though they are leaving us to step into a glorious eternity if they have put their faith in Christ, they are still leaving us for a time and we dearly miss them and our times together. That is the hard part. May God's presence be with him and his family and friends in this time of parting.

Thank ya'll for this forum's stand. My brother died in 1982 and my cousin Wayne just kind of filled in the gap, we have been very close since then.

Sorry to hear that Jerry. We had a fellow at church who had been in an auto accident. The doctors gave him every kind of pain medication under the sun trying to keep him out of pain.
After two years on that stuff they backed off and said they had cooked his liver, he had maybe 6 mos. to live. that has been nine years ago and he's still going? Wonder what happened? I guess they don't always know what they think they do.

His grace is sufficient.

Jerry,
I know that the Lord's promise that you will meet again gives some solace, but it is always sad knowing that time will pass slowly. Prayers for those left behind.-Vall

Prayers from here for you all, these words written below are so very nice, hope they help a little.

" Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household name that it always was,
let it be spoken without effort,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well."

So will I. I just lost a deer hunting buddy a week ago Friday. Lung cancer, 49 years old. His three brothers are in the camp I belong to in the Adirondacks.

Continue to seek comfort in Christ. What a blessing it must be to have known your friend. You WILL see him again, and it will be for all eternity!
God bless you and all of your friend's loved ones.
