I'd apply, but once they saw me in swim trunks...

Swim trunks? If I am not mistaken the uniform of the day on Australian beaches is the Speedo. On me it would be a vision from the third circle of Hades.

They could not pay me enough for a boring job like that. I'd go crazy in a couple of weeks doing nothing but walking around.

But....................if they let me take my casting equipment, reloading supplies, a few Winchesters & Colts, my Jeep, a few of my dogs, along with a way my wife could NOT find me, well, by golly, I'd be In-Like-Flint :D ----------Sixgun

I read about that today.

6 mos/$100K and if there was a way to get it tax free I'd be all over it. I'd just have to figure out how to get a 6 mo supply of smokes and Shiner Bock set-up in advance...

I'd apply for that myself but I didn't see any mention of where the rifle range is located?

I don't go to the beach any more. The last two times I did the rescue team from Sea World showed up and tried to put me in some kind of a contraption so they could fly me back to swim with Shamu.

Heh. When you go to the recruitment office in Sydney, first thing they do is give you a plane ticket to Perth, 'cos that's where the queue starts...

You know, I once had the best job in the world (for me). But being young ans stupid I didn't realize it at the time. Why would someone give up jumping out of helicopters into what ever hell was currently happening is beyond me.

The best job in the world is one that keeps you busy and provides enough to pay for the stupid student loans that didn't help you get it.

Ha Ha Ha no speedo's down under thanks, hopefully all the old guys that used to wear them have gone to the happy speedo land in the sky, board shorts thanks nothin' but board shorts, if you were really hip surfie they were Occanoies. The job wouldn't be bad if it was at Bondi.

Hmm.For the money and the relatively short commitment I'd do it. I probably have a better chance of getting struck by lightning but that is the truth. I suspect they have someone already in mind but did this as a promotional thing .

Folks you will be pleased to hear Speedo's , we call em Budgie smugglers , are definatly a social phopar downunder . Board shorts are standard fare though their is a refreshing trend for fit young ladies to wear G string Bikini's and shoot lever action rifles [ often at the same time ] . For $6000 a week you would spend the weekends flying up north and hunting the Cape for Captain Cookers [ wild boar - renowned for nasty tempers and huge tusks ] and fishing for Barramundi but watch out for Tiapans and eastern brown's [ no2 & 3 deadliest snakes in the world ] or out west chasing Pigs , Feral Camels ; Feral Donkeys , wild dogs and watch out for the inland Taipan [ deadliest snake in the world ]or perhaps up to the Territory for a quick jaunt after Asiatic Water Buffalo [ undiscovered and unranked deadliest snakes in the world ]. By the way no swimming in the top end - 20 ft crocs . If you could not be bothered hunting if you where that cashed up you could slum it reef fishing and perhaps feed the tiger sharks [ and the deadliest sea snakes in the world ] , the water is too warm for Great Whites that far north so you got half a chance .

Hamilton Island is a beautifull tropical island resort and a almost pristine wilderness area - go on apply

I'm impressed a Kiwi can type Griff  , sorry :D could not resist .

New Zealand has great hunting opportuities like , Chamois , Thar , Wapiti , Sitka deer etc

Griff it's cheaper for me to fly to New Zealand and hunt red deer with a guide for a week than it is for me to hunt red deer 60 kilometres from home for 3 days , would be a top way to spend holidays from the best job in the world .

regards Jacko

ps hope I didn't make any typo's cause I would hate for someone to say Aussie's can't spell .
