LEVERGUNNERS, I AM TRULY BLESSED
had to work friday, i got home and decided to put put some fresh corn and apples out in case i was going to hunt saturday... at the last moment on friday i decide to head out to my ground blind and see if anything would show up... just before dark i put my 45-70 xlr up and was watching through the scope, and within seconds i notice some movement off to my left... when the deer showed himself i thought i could see horns, he was broadside slightly quartering towards me.. its getting dark fast so i make my decision... i aim for my favorite high shoulder shot, and squeeze the trigger when i get to the spot it is dark, i dont see anything at first, and then there he is biggest buck ive ever taken... eleven total points... to make an even better life moment, my neice is home for the holidays, along with her 2 month old baby boy Aaron... his father is currently serving his second tour in iraq, with the United States Marine Corps, and has not seen his boy in person yet... i hope this will put a big smile on his face when he sees it

You said it. Very nice deer, congratulations. Two nice bucks in one year.

Nice buck. One of the crowning moments of autumn is to take a nice Buck.
Kirk: An old geezer who loves the smell of freshly turned earth, old cedar rail fences, wood smoke, a crackling fireplace on a snowy evening, pristine wilderness lakes, the scent of
cedars and a magnificent Whitetail buck framed in the semi-buckhorn sights of a 120-year old Winchester.

Good buck. Thanks to the Marine and his family. We wish him and them a safe return and happy holidays.
Is that a Corgi helping you hold that buck up or is he checking out the entrance wound?

One day in the future, "little Aaron" will know that at a mere 2 months of age, he got to share in a moment of glory with his uncle. You did the right thing to look close to home for that big dude!! Congrats on such a good shot too.
To hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat same as the worms.

yes, you are truyly blessed. Long may the blessings last. Wishing a hedge of protection while the young Buc's father serves us all in harms way.

Great photo. Is there a small dog back there or is that buck growing a stumpy little leg out of the side of its head?
... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.
