Go and get you a .32.

If you have a little to spare, and can still afford Christmas, then go for it.

When you get it home, take pics and post them here so we can drool over it too.

Be up front with her and tell her that you really need this lever.
And besides, she has to get you something for Christmas anyways why not this?!

at $350 you cant afford not to. It is a wise investment for both of your future. It will bring a greater return than the stock market... At least this is what works for me

I'd say buy it if you want it, but the stock market has doen FAR better for me than firearms. Even a standard passbook saving has outpaced most firearms.

Get it and shoot it, or get it and resell it on this forum. Either way you'll come out a winner!

If you don't decide to do either, direct your friend to sell it here first!!!

The gun will last far longer, and bring you greater pleasure (really), than the woman, and it will never tell you that you can't buy another gun.

DITTO...what they said.....I got a 1940 32 winchester special...get it...
and then go buy reloading equipment and stock up
on the components...It is an odd caliber for todays standards..
Its between a 30-30 and a 35 rem but closer to 30-30...
mmmm or is it a 32wcf? (32-20) thats even better yet!

$50 for the rifle and $300 for all the stories that go with it. Sounds like a bargain to me.

Well i went to look at it man it is rough he must went crazy with a drill and bit there are hole in the receiver that i never saw before 3 extra noes near the loading gate and on the flip side of the receiver there was 2 more one was at lease .250 in dia. the lever wouldn't stay shut and the bottom tang was bulged. the rear sight was bent bad and like i said before it was missing the elevator ...
he did say when he talked to me that he hadn't looked at it of years and it was in worse shape that he thought.

so i passed on the winchester , but he said he was going to give it to his grandson since I didn't want it .............but i did get a lever from him
a ruger model 96 it is in 22 mag made in 1996 the last year he went hunting.
the price was right i think 185.00 so did i do good on that ??

Well done RS...sounds like you did very well. Do you have a Ruger Single Six to go with that new Ruger? That'd be a great pair ot 22 mag workhorses.

Ew, sounds like that old gun would have needed a bunch of repair and parts to get it back to "good" quality.

Sounds like you did good in not buying it for $350.00.

You might have offered him $50.00, though if you felt like having a project gun around for cold winter days.

thanks,
ya i do got a single six convertable, never thought of that match.

As for a winter project 13 month of winter is not enough to do that gun!
i have some real junkers[not levers] that have no value other than sentiminatel[sp] from older relatives and friends
but this one is bad, but he will keep it in the family with his grandson 20 or 21 yrs old i will will see the boy , and tell him if he ever needs to sell it i will take it. but it aint worth 350.00. at best 150... but i'm cheap !!!

thanks for all the replies and welcoming me on board.
