This infuriates me that a state I have never even visited would ask for a hand out, paid for by my tax dollars!
They act like the economy is not effecting anybody else but them.
Then again, what do you expect from a state that keeps re-electing Ted Kennedy!

California and Massachusetts two of the most liberal states with the most social programs can not afford to make pay roll. Time to wean some of the pigs off of the teat. Every time a dollar is collected in the coffers the politicians act like there is 20 dollars there so they spend 50. I think that its high time that they start learning to live within there means.

The Goverment live with-in it's means,, It will never happen. Like talking to a fence post. The american new generation want to live like china and cuba etc. They want the gov to tell them what to do and they have no problem taking from those who have worked for what they have so they don;t have to work. Just look at the election, OBAMA is like a god to most of the young-ens as well as over %50 of the voting public. Whats up with that......The Dems and some Rep dog out the rich. I don't know anyone who has worked for a poor man and supported his family.

i saw where the gov of commiefornia has asked the federal gov for a seven billion dollar loan "to keep the state running".

i've also read that the state of california spends 15 billion a year on illegal immigrants care , feeding education, etc...

So, now the states are lining up too - go figure. As with our personal lives, those who live within their means, didn't over-buy, work hard to keep a good credit rating, save and defer on what they can't afford will be paying for all of those with the mentality that they want it now and don't care if they can't afford it or not. Now the states who have been disciplined (such as Texas and my SC) will be on the hook for those who rushed headlong into socialism (such as CA and Mass.). Or rather, now the residents of the disciplined states will be on the hook.

I get the impression that we have crested the top of the hill, are on the downside, and picking up speed...

The Democraps have managed, through their complete control of public education, to dumb down society to the point that most voters are economic and historic illiterates. Look at the bail-out garbage. Obama, Pelosi and Reid get before any microphone they can and blame this all on "greed" and "Reaganomics" and Republicans love affair with unregulated free market capitalism. They claim this is a failure of the free market and capitalism. The press doesn't say one word - not that we'd expect them to, as they have plainly chosen sides on this one. But the sheeple are dumb enough - having learned only "Demonomics" - to buy this balooney hook, line and sinker.

It will be interesting indeed to see how this will shake out. I doubt any bailout money will come from the Congress to bail out the states. This last Wall Street bailout was so unpopular that I doubt any Congress critter would want to take this on so close to an election. That being said, I hope that California shuts down. I really do. I know some people might get financially hurt, but that's the breaks. I'm sick and tired of this socialist SF- & LA-led legislature and our RHINO governor spending more and more money that WE don't have. (Note the emphasis on WE...not THEY). Maybe this is what is needed to turn people's thinking around. We can't keep electing the same knuckleheads year after year that keep getting us into these financial messes.

I'm working part-time as a ranger in one of the state parks. May have to become a WalMart greeter after they cut my $8.12/hr job. It would be nice to see which states are running a surplus and which are not, and correlate that to whether their governments are mostly democrat or republican. It's probably safe to assume that we already know the answer! But, it would be neat to see it.
