Savage 99 Varmint Rifle and first kill

I took this customer out for varmints and convinced him to use his 1950's Savage 99 in 300 Savage instead of his 257 Weatherby Mag. He was pleased with the results when we called in this grey fox to 100 yards and he hit it exactly where he aimed, killing it instantly. A full mount is planned with the completed fox to be a donation to his home town high school for display.

Doesn't look like any hide damage. Did the bullet pass straight through ?

We've had foxes posted that were killed with .177 air rifle pellets (in England so no more than 12 fpe muzzle energy) and now with a .300 Savage. That's a range of possibilities for certain! And yes, kewl.
