I was wandering (online0 thru Natchez stuff and saw that they had RL 7 available. A mere $60/lb in the 5# jugs, which as more than double from last time I bought any. But my dollars are worth a lot less now than they were then so -- what the heck. I ordered up a couple jugs which should keep me from having to find an alternative powder for the old 38/40 and 44/40 and a coupla' others for a few more years. At which point I may or may not give a rip.
Anyway, just letting folks know who were needing some of this stuff that has been unobtainium around these parts for several years.

It has been my understanding that the "Reloader" powders were imported. I wonder if they might become available under another name?

One of the local shops have had it for about a month for $57 / lb. Thought that was crazy. I have a couple of pounds that I can't remember why I bought it. Earl, I think you're the one that told me to try it with cast bullets in the .30-30. I've been meaning to let you know that I've been having a lot of fun with that combination.

Re: Alliant Reloader 7 available
I think Alliant powders are some of the most difficult to obtain anymore. I am always on the look-out for RL-26. I gave up a substantial amount years ago to friends, and I have sort of regretted it ever since. I have enough for a while, but need more. If you come across any, please let me know. It is a very hard powder to find. Thanks Gents. -Tutt

Me too. And Reloder 17. Their Swiss made Nitrochemie (ReloadSwiss) powders are excellent in their burn speed categories.CowboyTutt wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:08 pm I think Alliant powders are some of the most difficult to obtain anymore. Re: Alliant Reloader 7 available
RE7 has been my "go to" powder for the .30-30 for nearly as long as I've been reloading for it. I've got a bit laid in, but have been moving to BL(c)2 most recently.
