Help needed with front sight
Hey guys I need some help here. I just bought a G-Force huckleberry 357 lever. It is pretty much a copy of the 1892 especially the Rossi version. The problem I'm having is it has this big fluorescent front sight which basically covers a 5-in circular target at 50 yd. I'm not fond of these glow sites. I would like to replace it however it's not like the Rossi where it has a dovetail in the barrel for a front sight. It is exactly like the picture sound below. How Do I go about searching for a new sitefor this gun? Thank you for all your help.

Re: Help needed with front sight
Small punch and tap the fiber optic pipe out, mix a little JB WELD and fill the rear ( facing the stock) then profile and paint black.
Or
Remove the pipe and find a brass rod that fits.
Or
Find a site base and replace it completely.

Will is giving good advice. Other than the sights, what do you think of your Huckleberry so far? I just don't know quite what to think about the aluminum receiver.
Re: Help needed with front sight
I have a late production, basic Henry 22 which had what amounts to pistol sights. The front sight was post, mounted in exactly the same manner illustrated in your photo.
I wanted the option to use a bead front sight. I solved that problem with a factory Winchester sight ramp for their 9422 series rifles. Numrich is out of them at the moment but they show up on ebay once in awhile.

Here's how I went about it-
1. Measure your existing sight, from the top of barrel to the top of the bead.
2. Adapt your existing screw to work with the Winchester ramp. It should fit in the countersink of the new ramp. You may need to chuck the screw tightly in your drill and file the outer edge down until it fits. Cold or torch blue the modified screw.
3. Select the front sight of your choosing, in a height which makes your new ramp & sight match the height of the OEM unit.
4. Because the mounting screw is behind the dovetail, you can secure the ramp in a vise and mount your bead sight before you attach them both to the rifle.
5. Go shoot!

I have seen solid white pipes to replace the fiber optic

Re: Help needed with front sight
Replacing the fiber optic with a filler won't solve the problem of the over size bead. However, simply driving out the plastic might leave a sight picture similar to a globe sight.
Re: Help needed with front sight
I was going to say same, just buy a screw on ramp with dovetail sight . Put any sight you want in it.
Re: Help needed with front sight
Very very accurate and other than my Sako finnwolf the slickest lever I played with, and I have a lot of them. The trigger averaged out at 1.6 lbs for 5 pulls. Shoots 38 well and 357's with the exception of some wadcutters that you have to seat flush of course. Other than the front sight, no problems at all and I ordered a rear peep site from Skinner which they have listed for the Rossi 92.... hopefully the same dimensions of this one as it seems to be a copy of sameBill in Oregon wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 6:44 am Will is giving good advice.
