Favorite Rimfires?

A couple of my favorites are a Winchester 9422M with a laminated stock and a High Standard Supermatic Trophy...

That's a nice pairing. I've got a couple of OM Single Sixes that I enjoy, but if I want to feel good about my shooting I'll haul out the Ruger MKII. For rifles it's probably my Erma DSM34. Cosmetically challenged (and priced to match) but mechanically sound with a good bore, it's a slow paced and relaxing way to burn through a box or two.

Speaking of rimfires, wasn't Winchesters Ranger supposed to start shipping by now? I'm curious to see one.

Rimfire rifle and handgun have become my favorite as of late.
Try to shoot every week.
It would be hard for me to beat my Savage model 29 and 29B ,cheap no frills but they are deadly accurate.

The 29B holds to this day my best offhand standing group .
20 yards offhand standing.

The 1929 sitting with barrel rested on sawhorse is just as accurate but trigger is just a little heavier.25 yards .

Both of these are 10 shot groups with CCI SV

My favourite will always be a Winchester 9422 that was old and battered when I bought it for a song, it never let me down and was capable of more accuracy than I could shoot.
I have had two Winchester 9422M one was super accurate but the second one I had was not consistent.
The most accurate of all my rimfires was a BSA Super Sport Five but being a bolt action it doesn't qualify as a favourite...

My favorite is the one I got for my 10th anniversary. An engraved Smith 617.
My most fun, accurate is one of the first 10/22 takedowns. With Aguila Golden Match Rifle it’s very accurate.

Favorite is my Marlin 39A followed by a Super single six. Did pick up a Ruger precision rimfire that is amazingly accurate. It likes everything I have shot thru it, about 8 different types, from Norma 22 Match to some old Federal stuff. Pretty much cloverleafs it all with just a bit tighter cloverleaf with the match stuff

The Hi Standard Supermatic series handguns will always be my favorite .22RF pistols! Used my Supermatic for many years in bullseye matches and still like just plinking with it.
Of course my Ballard rifles in .22RF are all my favorite rifles.

nylon 66 that I shot as a kid is with a grand son now.

I have a Ruger Automatic, it is one of my all time favorite 22s from the era of my Centennial 39A. I don't know where these will wind up, but they're not moving until i'm room temperature.

Love my Centennial, but for some reason the 66 remains my favorite out of the many rimfire long guns I have.


I wish they had made the GS with an octagon barrel. That would be the perfect 45-70.

My dad's Winchester 75 shorter is a special favorite along with my High Standard Victor. The old Sentinel I carried for years on the trapline is one I always reach for too.

That's cool, Jeepnik! An Apache Black Nylon 66. I have a regular brown one that it was easy to get my kids starting in shooting at a young age with because of its light weight. I don't know that I've ever had a misfire with it....had it for over 40 years.

To the best of my knowledge I have two rimfire left and they both came from my maternal grandfather . Ones a Winchester 1890 pump that shoots 22 Shorts only , my grandfather and his older brother bought it new in the 20’s . When I graduated HS grandfather told me as a gift I could have $100 or that rifle no need to say which I took . After he died I was willed all his firearms which included a Colt Scout 9 1/2” Buntline Special he ordered right after I was born in 1961 and evidently it took a few months as he finally got it in 1962 , have the box all papers the original grips and a set of walnut grips he made for the gun . When he ordered it he didn’t get the 22 Mag cylinder later he say he wished he’d gotten one but he did okay as it was . I’ve watched him kill woodchucks and Hawks with that revolver at a pretty decent distance .

Easy for me. My early production 77/22 I got for Christmas when I was about 15. Bought a compact Burris for it. I replaced the trigger with a Dayton Traister when I was about 30. Will shoot about anything decently. Will one hole at 50 yards with a few loads. When something small needs to be shot, this is the one.

Given this is Leverguns.com, i wish i could say it was my little Henry, but truth be told - its the 10/22's

The target model with a Busnell 6-15 tac scope is spry enough to keep the little bitty rimfire spinning targets dancing at 100 yards quite easily --- and the take down model with a much more proletariat Simmons optic is not that far behind it (at 100 yards)

My 77/22 by far is my favorite. I originally bought it for .22 silhouette ( which never happened) it still wears the factory profile barrel but is a match grade Shilen. It also wears this gorgeous Claro Walnut stock I made for it.

I admit I am a big fan of the 10/22. A standard model was the last gun my Dad got me before he died.

My Dad had a Colt single-action in .22 that we loved to shoot. IIRC, it seemed like it was full size or near to it - but it may have just been due to me being younger. The gun was stolen 40+ years ago.

I really should shoot a .22 more.

Typically I shoot on Saturday mornings but I have limited time so I have concentrated on the bigger guns.

I think I would be better off slowing down and shooting 50 rounds through the.22 first for accuracy and then shoot 10-20 rounds through a bigger sixgun.
