Hey Fellers, I was born a little early to get involved with the computer world and know about as much about the inside of a flying saucer as I do computing and smart phones. That being said I keep reading about "spammers" and down at the bottom of the page where it shows who all's on the board right now are fokes names and "bots", what are spammers and bots and why are they deviling us? I don't have facebook and don't belong to any computer groups other than accurate shooter and long range hunting and this one but I've never heard anything about the bots on the other sites, just curious... John

I can't take credit for fixing anything my PMs haven't been read yet ! It must have fixed itself .

I think only Old Savage, Ysabel Kid and myself are the only ones who log on regularly to check it's running okay...

The Bots as I understand it are collecting information, some are good and some are bad, the spammers are malicious and try to advertise porn sites or drugs etc.

What do you consider "regularly"? I log on several times a day. I noticed the slowness, but just figured it would get sorted out eventually.

I too log on several times a day to zap the spammers and activate any new commers, several spammers not many newcomers, what I was referring to is that the Admin do not log in very often and it's the mods and myself along with regular members who see and report any problems. Usually the forum runs okay with no problems hence the lack of day to day Admin...

Just got back in the country last Saturday and have been running ragged since then. Got gamekeeper's PM, but didn't get time to look into it. My guess is that there may have been an attack on the server that slowed things down, but that's only a guess as things seem to be running fine now.
