Just brought the pack in from playing/ exploring. They are bushed !!

Got a call last night, friend of a previous puppy caretaker of mine that is interested in Pinky, the other little girl. Fingers crossed.

I got home today, fed them and put the door. Sage and one of the other pups went right down the ramp into the grass and squatted! Well on the way to house breaking !

Just had our gruel mixed with ground up kibble. As soon as they were done eating I scooped them up and out the door. By the time I got all 5 pups out 2 had already tinkled on the deck - good start! I then waded through the future kitchen sharks and they followed me down the ramp to the lawn where Sage and Pinky went right into taking a biden. We are well on our way to house breaking !!

They just had their very first bath. Sure is a lot easier in the kitchen sink than my having to get my muck boots and Grundens rain gear when I give Parker and Claro a bath !
Thankfully none of the puppies freaked out while in the dish pan

I'm really happy you guys are enjoying this cuz I'm having an absolute blast!

So much fun watching them learning to play !!

Up this morning, walk the big dogs quick and by the time we got back in the house the puppies were wide awake and hungry!
Put the puppies outside and they went for a tinkle and came right back to the house.
Got everyone's food gathered and in dishes, put the ufo in the box and like famished little puppies do they inhaled, walked through, fell into it until it was all gone. Then back outside after a few minutes and they finished their business!

Back in the house where they played for about 15 minutes and crashed into puppy dreamland.

Holy pack of hyenas! They were in rear form this morning- screaming, howeling, snarling. Parker is drying up so they were hungry . She jumped in the box and they were on her before her feet hit the floor! Still had to get the big dogs out.
Back in the house and the second chorus was worse than the first!
Got the pups fed, I gotta start giving them more! They immediately went back to Parker! Now they are starting to get into things!

Thanks for this post. We buried one dog last year and have two more in the 13 14 year old range. I expect we will be getting a puppy in a year or two tops.

Kinda jumped the gun a bit by taking them for shots today but it was the only appointment I could get. Also got dewormed. I had 5 puppies in a crate serenading me on the drive BOTH WAYS

Vet is very happy with their progress, heaviest is 8.5 lbs, smallest at 6.4. Eyes,ears,noses, toofys, butts are all in good shape.

Thanks but we are not ready. When the time comes we will be getting a smaller dog and it will be a girl. Something easy to carry and ride the motorcycles with us. Maybe some kind of terrier. Boys lift their legs and we are around a lot of antique bikes that I don't want my dog peeing on one. That and all my girl dogs were the closest to me. Both boys right now are in bed with Mommy.

I hear ya.
Yes I'm partial to females myself. I think they are easier training, hunt better too. It's my theory that in a deep dark recess of their brain they know that they might someday have to feed a bunch of puppies. Although my JRT was a boy and he hunted nonstop for 14 years!

Terriers are all different. Our female Chihuahua is unusual. Friendly to most people after a bit of time. I belong to her.

Well now I did it, they arent happy !
Had to make up a 1/4" plywood puppy barrier to go under the couch- past 2 days they have been sleeping under the couch and it's a pain to reach under to get them out !

Actually I'm thinking it's Parker that does that , she still insists to clean up after the puppies. And as they splash water out of the dish it all gets soggy and becomes a poop swamp and she goes in and eats it all.
BTW don't let her give ya kisses!

They have been waking me at 0300 all week. They really don't want to sleep in their bathroom, I don't blame them but im not taking them out at time of morning!!!!

Here is Cappy. He was heaviest at birth and he is going to grow into a BIG boy!

Since Friday night I have been taking the pups out one at a time around 9pm , let's them focus on going potty without playing, (Ya know, attention span of a gnat). It seems to be working as no solid waste in the box this morning!!

My Sage is really 'getting it ' as is Pinky the other little girl. They actually go to the grass whereas The boys just get out the door and spray and pray!

People that are getting Cappy have been visiting weekly and each trip they comment about how the change. They are now on vacation and they still comment about the changes when I send pictures .

Had a lull in the rain, they started doing the ' I gotta go out ' dance so out we went. As the boys hit the deck they did their thing but the girls went for the lawn. Then one of the boys realized he had to doo-doo and out in the rain he went !

It's transformed to lower voltage so hopefully that's 1 puppy that has learned to not chew cords!

Thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Love the puppy pictures. It's been a long time since we've had puppies around - 30 plus years. Always had dogs around but the last 3 generations have all been rescues.

So today I snaked the hose through the puppy fence into their pool. Of course they had to investigate the trickle of water! All were fascinated by it. Pawing, barking, licking and sticking their faces in it. I was laughing at the shear wonderment of them discovering the hose and completely forgot about taking pictures!

In other news ( I'll probably jinx myself) if I take them our at 9pm they seem like they can get through the night until about 4am! Hopefully before too long they will sleep till 5 am !

In other other news, Parker and the puppies were out Sunday and I saw a fox sneaking through the yard INSIDE the fence. That is a big NO! Not taking a chance of pups being killed, rabies of Parker getting torn up. Besides my 41 mag all I could get fast was my RWS .177 air rifle. By the time I got outside the fox was under the fence and 45 yards away. It turned broadside as the cross hairs settled in the shoulder. That pellet drove through to the far side!! I saw the off leg go limp as it took no more than 5 steps and fell over DRT ! WOW I never expected that.

amazing what those little.177 pellets can do, I nailed a fox once with a .177 but it was point blank range.

The little pack of hyenas went to the vet today, got 2nd deworm and second distemper shots. 4 puddles and 1 pile left on the floor!

I was lucky enough to have the hyena serenade all the way there.

Parker is 6 next month, after her losing 3 pups and her age I'm not going to chance complications.

So I still have 2 boys that need homes, black and yellow. I'm starting to get a little anxious- not sure I can afford to feed 5 dogs and the vet bills !!!
