Thought exercise
I usually start each day with a three-mile walk on the treadmill to warm up and stretch before work. Helps me get through my day. Also gives me a chance to watch a lot of things that my wife may not be interested in (anything Sci-Fi), or not as interested in as me (re-watching old westerns). Last week I decided to finally watch the 3+ hour move, “The Seven Samurai”. It was great, subtitles and all. Then I watched “The Magnificent Seven”, the 1960 original. Finally, I watched the remake of “The Magnificent Seven” from 2016 (hard to believe that movie is already 7 years old). This was spread out over the whole week. What fun!
The original “Magnificent Seven” has one of my favorite movie quotes of all time. From Vin (Steve McQueen) to Caldera (Eli Wallach), “We deal in lead, friend”. This got me thinking. What is the best line in every western or from every western star in any of their movies.
These quickly came to mind:
Steve McQueen in ”The Magnificent Seven”: “We deal in lead, friend”
John Way in ”True Grit”: “Fill your hands you sorry so-and-so!”
Clint Eastwood in “The Outlaw Josey Wales”: “Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?”
Val Kilmer in “Tombstone”: “I’m your huckleberry”
Robert Redford in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”: “Can I move?”

Firefly, a great western series, even if it is in space. "If somebody tries to kill you, you kill them right back."
The only sci-fi worth bothering with.

Yep, definitely a different twist on futuristic sci-fi. I really enjoyed that show.
"I swear by my pretty floral bonnet I will end you".
Lot of good nuggets from that one episode alone

Outlaw Josie Wales river ferryman. In my line of work you either have to sing The Battle Hyme of the Republic, or Dixie, with equal enthusiasm.

Re: Thought exercise
That one movie alone has some of the best one-liners...
Add the other Dirty Harry series to that one and you get a whole book full of great lines...
