A while back Scott (I think) posted about short-barreled, large caliber handguns. Through the post someone mentioned the .45 ACP cylinder for a .45 Colt. I looked to order one for my Uberti Cattleman "Sabre", and did so (through Taylor's). It took about 7 months before it was available again, and then took me a few months to drop it off at the gunsmith to have it fitted (it was not a drop-in). He got the work done in a few days, for only a couple Jacksons.

Here she is:
The picture is a bit funny, because the finish is darn near perfect, though it doesn't look like it in the photo. The cylinder outside the gun is the original one in .45 Colt.
Now, I can reload .45 Colt any day of the week. I have a ton of brass, bullets, and powder. What I don't have a ton of (by my standards) is primers. So, I figured getting a cylinder in .45 ACP means I can buy factory ammo, at darn near half the price of factory .45 Colt.
That's my plan anyway!
