Welcome back Sixgun.
Merry Christmas to you!
Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Thanks for keeping things between the lines.

Howdy Andy! (time to promote myself)
Glad you noticed me with a quote, Thank you!......Sure, we can get to know each other real well......I'm the guy "who knows it all" and is disliked by all but a few.
I'm very politically incorrect which is why a few of us outcasts started this thread.
Oh...I'm also a Christian but don't bring my Faith to the board. My words are who I am and have neither the desire nor the inclination to present a false image that is so common in today's society in order to "claim the moral high road" Sounds like Elmer Keith, don't it?---6
Well, I'm sure in a guy who "knows it all" there is room somewhere for some humility which keeps us all tolerable. Many here have long, experienced, accomplished and occasionally sordid pasts. Pretty easy for us to get a lil wound up on occasion or a bit pointed in ways that may (or may not) be helpful.
One of the goals I'll be bringing to the table is building camaraderie, encouraging new shooters and old shooters alike. Proverbs tells us that words spoken in the right way are like "Apples of Gold in settings of Silver". Those are also the most effective educationally. We will be looking for some golden apples that will help the family as a whole.
Here in the Politically incorrect topics, there will continue to be some latitude since most all of us have some strong opinions and a bit of satire / indignation / insights mixed with a bit of disgust at how society is changing around us. I personally believe some of what we see happening today are fulfillments of what was called "conspiracy theories" not that long ago. Not that the world hasn't witnessed some of the current dysfunction in other cycles of history but currently we are back on the brink of some difficult times (unless there is heartfelt change and with-it divine intervention)
As far as, "junk is junk and always will be junk." Some of that evaluation is subjective and can be divisive if we ride that horse too hard. In the other forums / pages I work with my policy has been "No brand bashing". We generally don't hear both sides of a customer service complaint, don't have the article in hand to collectively decide a quality issue, and it all becomes pretty one sided. Add to that the dog pile effect that can come with anything negative and what is printed here can have hurtful consequences for our manufactures and businesses that keep everyone in the game. Lots of new stuff out there that certainly isn't a pre-war Winchester or Colt and will never be but... some will own, like, and be proud of what they have invested in and are using. We will not beat the "But it's not a..." horse since it has been dead a long time and discourages the newer shooters who, can only hope to score some of the nicer pieces we almost take for granted in our collections. My guess is that the "Junk" observation has been made here enough everyone knows how we feel about it.
(For the record, I've not a fan of Big looped, cheese-grater forended, ceradipcoated MIM'ed, polymer injection molded wonder guns fit with "moon" scopes but... I try to keep that to myself since it really doesn't do anyone any good to say it or keep saying it and it discourages those who are just coming on board and perhaps haven't experienced what we believe we have superior knowledge of "yet")
Our words bring our faith to the board whether its general conversation, quoted scripture or sincere words of compassion when a member is needing encouragement. Letting our words be, "Seasoned with Salt" means that they are more tasteful. Our words reveal what is in the heart. Iron may sharpen Iron but we know from experience, the best sharpening doesn't involve heat and sparks. Sometimes we are proud that we just "tell it like it is" but that would infer we are always right, superior, and infallible. I knew you were a Christian right off... Who else would own a "a Calvary model" Colt??
I'm looking forward to seeing this group grow, having the reputation as the most helpful, inviting, inspiring forum on the planet.
TONS of information in the archives and pages here. A wealth of knowledge has been shared and will be shared by accomplished members. We want to honor the contributions and talents of the past and present members in the tone of our exchanges here.
Glad you are on board! (For the record, none of the Unpaid Moderators have shared anything with me. You get to make a first impression on your own!
)
Be prepared for a little fine tuning of the "rules" as a positive development in how we interact. Won't be anything unreasonable
