Dang, that's nice, but your photos are too small.

Our good family friend had one with the Tenite stock. He would take myself and his son out fox hunting. His boy got the .22 Mag Anschutz and I got the Savage 24. I preferred that gun. Too cool. Great times. Thanks for sharing but you've got a couple of problems. Not enough story and the pics are tooooooo small.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Sorry - I was trying ta be polite, and conserve bandwidth - not to mention consider my dial-up leverbrothers, Hobie !

The only "story", with this little beauty, is that last Christmastide I went into a local gunshop to look for some reloading gear and happen to notice this gun tagged @ $200.

When I returned home, I happen to mention to my wife(over lunch) how inexpensive it was (for what it was) - and she immediately said: "Well, I haven't got you a Christmas present yet, so why don't you go back and buy it ? "

I was outta the house before I finished lunch, to pay for it & start my State waiting period paperwork.

That was a heck of a price. Those guns are so useful for a small game hunter and have to be about the best gun for a person with a large garden. I like the wood stock on that one.

Once upon a time when I was in high school, my drafting teacher had a .22 LR over 20 ga. which he had scoped (cheeeeeeap scope) and shot the shotgun with scope. One of the crosshairs, I think it was the vertical, was gone, rather floating around inside the scope. He gave me the gun to clean and "fix". I took it down to our machine shop teacher and we took the scope apart and replaced the reticule with a "German" post type. Something solid to hold up to the shotgun fired with slugs. Apparently it worked a treat. That gun was ok but I prefer the .22/.410 guns. They gain weight rapidly as bore sizes increase.
Sincerely,

Hobie

That, they do.

I once had (1970 ?) a 24-MDL, which was a 22 Mag / 20ga Deluxe, with a Monte Carlo hump on the top of the buttstock and a beavertail forend, satin silver finished receiver, checkering, etc.
IIRC, it weighed almost a pound more than this puppy.

When I turned legal the very first gun I bought myself ON MY BIRTHDAY was a Savage M24. The one I got was a 22 Mag over a 20 ga. It was a peach.

I've always wanted a Savage 24 like that beauty.
I tried one once in the sixties and was very impressed, one's like that with wood stocks are a bit more expensive over here @ $389.
