I saw this Ruger .38-55 and couldn't not buy it!

The custom work had to be twice what I paid for it.

I'll be hitting the range Monday for sure.

Jason, you have outdone yourself on this one and congratulations are in order. What a caliber and what a platform! Do you know the rate of twist of your barrel? With a tight twist, the .38-55 is capable of surprisingly good performance at long range with a heavy cast bullet.

I haven't checked the twist rate yet, but it's on my list of things to do. Though, I'm pretty limited to 200 yards around here. It shot so well with the 249 LFPs that I probably won't stray far from that load for now.

I wish I could take credit for thinking this one up, but it came from an estate in PA. Unfortunately, no info or history came with it.

I do have a custom of my own in the works. Not going to be as pretty, but I'm looking forward how seeing how it turns out.
