Took a little effort
But the bore is finally clean and not a pit in it. .30WCF from 1934.

Nice. Is this a new acquisition? I've got a 64 Deluxe from the early 50's, it's nearly pristine on one side and rubbed smooth on the other - I suspect it spent a lot of time in a saddle scabbard. I don't think there's a more natural feeling rifle for quick offhand shooting than a 64.

Re: Took a little effort
I think that a 64 is one of the most beautiful rifles ever made. Very nice.
Re: Took a little effort
Good luck, my all time favorite rifle, and yes the most beautiful IMO!

Re: Took a little effort
If it's anything like the family 25-35 it'll be a shooter! Lovely rifle. It gives a great feeling to bring one back into good shape.

Re: Took a little effort
Nice! I traded into one a few years ago that had been drilled and tapped on the right side for a scope mount so it has one now and a Lyman aperture on the left.
Kind regards,

Whew, looks good, welcome to the Mod 64 family ! I guarantee it'll win your heart, good looking rifle! If I'm not mistaken 33 or 34 was the 64's first year?

Re: Took a little effort
I've had it for some time. I bought it cheap because someone had previously mounted a side-mounted scope and drilled 4 holes in the left side of the reciever, but I never really took it out and shot it, or even cleaned it up.samsi wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 7:09 pm Nice. Re: Took a little effort
It takes time, but it isn't so hard on the barrel as some other methods. With these old guns, it seems to be the way to go.Sarge wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 7:05 amThat's still my method. Re: Took a little effort
I'm pretty sure they numbered em right along with the 94 as if no difference.
