retirement surprise: 'bear rifle"

Post by hfcable »

recently posted about finally retiring, which i did on december 15. we have been at our place in bozeman MT since then until a few days ago. my new job down there is being grandpa

Image

its about the best job i have ever had !

friday night we were scheduled to have dinner with the top two folks from our clinic. i honestly had no idea that the whole crew was coming to give me a retirement party ! [ i might have run away if i had known ].

we had a great time and then they presented me with a gift.... a lever gun...since they know my interests.

at home and at work i am known as 'the bear' .... i like to think its because i am fierce and surly.... to be feared greatly. my son, the first born, has to spoil this by pointing out that he gave me this nickname because i was like Pooh bear... [ dont listen to this, i am to be feared...please ]

the rifle was a custom order from Henry, a 44 magnum. the pictures tell it all.

most touching gift i have gotten, and is instantly my favorite rifle... a true ' bear gun'

Congratulations to you! A gift like that says a lot about the person receiving it.

I happen to be on Kodiak visiting MY grandkids! And here for the birth of another. You're right sir, it's the best job in the world.

That's wonderful!

Our little granddaughter will be a year old next month. I'm going to pick up a Savage Rascal for her shortly. Just haven't decided on what color.

Enjoy your time together!
