Thanksgiving Reminder
I would like to encourage you to take Thanksgiving Day and spend the day BEING THANKFUL! It is very easy to be not-thankful if you watch the news or think about some things too much. So for a day, make the effort to think about the good things in life. Yes, I understand that times can be hard, that we have lost loved ones, that life may be going in a direction we do not like or agree with. I DO UNDERSTAND THAT! I am not saying “pretend everything is great.” I am saying STOP AND BE THANKFUL.
Because there are things in life to be thankful for.
Start thinking about them! Let your thoughts dwell on what is good. Don't let negativity have a place in your thinking for at least this one day! Several thousand years ago a Middle Easterner wrote these words: “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. If there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things.”
I think that's pretty good advice and the challenge is to do it for an entire day. Since it's “Thanksgiving” what better day to give it a try?
And ... I am thankful for you on this Forum! You are part of my journey in this life and because of you my life has been made richer and more interesting. Thank you!

Re: Thanksgiving Reminder
I feel the same about life, attitude, this forum, and you too.
I try every day to give prayers of thankfulness and for those going through hard times.
Still sometimes I DO complain though; it is just too tempting...

(I can't help it that no one would ever give me her phone number)

Yes Jim thank you for giving us all pause to THINK!
Personally I'm extremely thankful my Mother has been discharged from the rehab center, is making progress slowly but it is progress none the less! ( oh, not progress like the left is thinking )

Thanks Jim and happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Re: Thanksgiving Reminder
No matter how I feel, or what is going on, I start every day thanking the Lord for my wife, my son, my friends and my work.
You would be surprised at how much better your attitude gets when you recount your blessings every morning.

Re: Thanksgiving Reminder
Family get together at the ranch today, everything cooked on the . Same last year with rib roast, 2 years ago meant all food was killed or caught. Our tradition is to discuss being thankful throughout the meal. We are living large and loving it. Gonna try and meet a new neighbor today, I think they are alone. My best wishes to all!

Wishing you all a great Thanksgiving from the other side of the pond.....thank you Jim for the reminder, as hard as it seems sometimes we do have a lot to be thankful for.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
