If you use a walker ...
Or know a friend or loved one who does, I highly recommend getting a set of 8-inch "off road" rubber wheels from Amazon to replace the hard plastic five-inchers that come with most walkers. I was prescribed a walker after last week's fusion surgery, and have come to find the darned thing temporarily useful for some purposes. After switching out the wheels, it is smoother, quieter and more stable on gravel, etc.

not to mention the speed you pick up when racing the long boarders down the mountain roads . . ..After switching out the wheels, it is smoother, quieter and more stable on gravel, etc.
hope you are healing fast and carefully

Wishing you speedy recovery Bill.
The title got me half thinking I was going to learn something of Sam Colt's Walker.. sounds like a good tip for off roaders anyway..

Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
Re: If you use a walker ...
Not to mention that most of the walkers are set way to frackin' low. Being all bent over doesn't relieve pain one little iota...Adjust that sucker so you can stand up straight. When I go shopping, the cart is my walker....

Heal well, Bill. Glad that you are able to make the walker easier to use.

Vall, yes, little ski glides, but they are supposed to be a "female dog" to install, so I am waiting for my back to get a little stronger before I tackle this aggravation.

Wishing you a fast and pain free recovery. When I saw the title of this post I thought you meant "If you use a Walker REVOLVER"!!!

When I first saw this, I was thinking about a Walker Colt!

Dear Bill, wish you a fast recovery!! I've been laid up too, maybe not to quite the extent you are, but very close after a motorcycle wreck, it was weeks on the family couch. Wishing you the very best, you are well respected man here. God Bless you and heal well!!! -Tutt

Re: If you use a walker ...
Sorry, should have said "laid up before". Was long time ago. Bruised with complex laceration of left hand, broken thumb, back sprain. Never been so laid up, could barely roll over on couch. Hip bruise size of Hawaii. Feel bad for Bill, hope he heals well and soon!!! -Tutt

Re: If you use a walker ...
Fellas, getting better every day and hardly use the walker, but do wear the heavy back brace. Actually put on socks and tennis shoes this morning all by myself. It took some time and a few "pain yips" but it was an accomplishment. A worrisome development is post-op cognitive decline, or POCD. I find myself in a room and can't remember why I went there. I search for words and can't find them. About every other word I type is misspelled and I have to correct it. Surgeon says to give it a few weeks.
Appreciate the good thoughts.

I'm not sure how old you are, but, that is nothing new to me at nearly 70.I find myself in a room and can't remember why I went there. I search for words and can't find them.
