Re: Savage comes up with a whole new action
I saw/read 1 article about the Impulse. Looks like a winner !
BROWN LABS MATTER !!
Re: Savage comes up with a whole new action
I also read 1 article on it. It seems to be a new take on an old idea. Savage does make some accurate firearms, and their accutrigger idea seems to have been copied by everyone.

Probably never brought it out because they figgered the public would'nt buy it.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: Savage comes up with a whole new action
Here is an interesting article on straight-pull rifles. Several of them use ball bearings like the Savage. Although I understand why Savage made these in a long-enough action for a 300 Win Mag, I would really like one with a shorter throw. I would love to be able to keep my cheekweld while cycling the action (like a Lee Enfield).

My first serious .22 was one of the early Belgian Browning T-bolts about 1966. I have also had a couple of the Steyr straight-pulls and three Schmidt Rubins over the years. Liked 'em all.
