Question / POLL
I have been wondering ... what's the average age of the people on this Forum? Have we ever done that?
I will start .. just add your age and a note if you wish.
I am 74.
Been reloading and casting bullets for more than 60 years.
I am still learning!

55 years. About 30 when I started reloading. Still just a beginner.

65....Been shooting since I was 5......an M-1 Carbine that my Dad put in my hands......been reloading and casting since I was 18....logged close to a half million rds of ammo out of probably a thousand antique Winchesters, Colts, Marlins, Smith & Wesson, Remington, flattop Rugers..........and a few modern guns.

Re: Question / POLL
62. Shot first 22 LR around age 5 or 6, allowed to keep gun in room around age 10 (mom had ammo), and got my own Ruger 10/22 LR age 12. Next gun was a 22 LR Ruger Mk-I age 15, and at age 17 I got two centerfires - a Ruger M77V in 6mm Rem and a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 Mag.
Then 13 years of 'higher education' and not much gun buying.....but I've caught up some since then, trading many away to upgrade, but always keeping my favorite dozen.

Re: Question / POLL
I'll be 53 in November. My dad gave me my first .22 when I was 5 and two cases (not bricks) of Remington ammo too go with it. Started reloading around 13-14 or so when I got my first Enfield and .303s were pretty hard to find.

Re: Question / POLL
I am 55. I started shooting at 5. I got my first 22 at 10 and started reloading shot shells at 14. Started casting in my early 20’s then didn’t for many years. When politics got weird ER(?). I thought it might be a good idea to have my own supply of projectiles readily available so I started again about 18 years ago. Which is kinda funny since I only have three or four guns

Re: Question / POLL
I'll be 59 in a few weeks !
I suppose I started at 6 or 7 years I do know I bought my first 22 a used Winchester 67 when I was 7 i'd saved up I think $5 and my pop paid the other $10 . For Christmas when I was 8 Santa Clause brought me a nice new H&R Topper 12 gauge 32" full choke gun and I started shooting it right away , back then I was proud of the big bruise I'd have on my shoulder after shooting it .
Now since that time I'd hate to estimate the number I've bought , sold and kept .

Re: Question / POLL
I'm just a pup at 50 I started shooting trap competitively at 12, won a state championship at 13. Been a serious gun crank ever since. Reloading since 13,rifle & pistol came along a bit later. Oh and I've turned my share of barrels, make stocks and I have an o/u that I did all the fit & finish as well as the wood.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

Re: Question / POLL
75 and holding there for a few more weeks. Late to the Reloading game -- didn't discover loading until I was a sophomore in college at age 20. Bolted a C&H "C" press to the window sill of Waldo Hall at Oregon State University to load for the '17 Enfield that got shipped to me at the dormitory post office -- bolt sticking through the side of the cardboard. Different world.

So far I'm the youngest at 42. Not a regular contributer but have been on here off and on since at least 2005 (diff user name originally).
Been shooting since about 7 and accompanied my dad hunting from probably younger than that. I'm pretty sure that the love of leverguns is in my DNA.

69. Started with a REAL Red Ryder my Mom had in the 30's. Still have the Remington 511X I bought for $30 when I was 12.
Shooting more now than ever. Shotguns, lever silhouette in .22, pistol cartridge, and big bore. Airgun silhouette in fall/winter. Retirement is great for shooting.

At this point the average age is 63.4 ...
Of course, when you consider we have had 40-some responses out of 290+ viewers ....
I was happy to see those younger than 50 ... AND those over 75 ....
