The 1911A1 on the right belongs to my dad. Back when you could buy directly from the DCM my grandfather bought about a dozen. The whole box was British proofed Colts!
They had no idea what these pistols would be worth someday so my dad took his to the local gunsmith and turned it into a target pistol. I grew up shooting hundreds, if not thousands of light handloads that my grandfather had made. You get really good at clearing a jamb with old light handloads.

I've had the National Match for about five years, it replaced a custom Colt Combat Elite that was sold off when I was ill and not expected to make it.
This is the most accurate .45ACP I've ever owned, chews the center out of the target! The grips are bone and were give to me by a friend that said that they were too thick for his hands.
