Getting to old for this stuff.

Post by Pitchy »

Stove gave out again so cut into it today, with my bad hip it was a real pain i`m telling ya.
Standing on that slanted bucket wore me out, put a 6x18 patch on top to cover the crack now just have to weld it all back together.

Yeah, I think I'd have had to build a scaffold to stand on; awkward positions like that aren't fun, nor safe...

I hear ya but it takes five minutes to get up there and climbing up a scaffold would take just as long , what can i say if i don`t do it won`t get done.
Building a scaffold would be just as much pain.
Why can`t anyone just say nice job Lenn.

Good job man. I always wonder what people who can't fix something like this do? Seems like everyone here can fix things, even most things but most people aren't capable of even the easiest fixes.

True. Another reason most people are in debt up to their eye balls. Growing up all we had was used worn out junk and no money. So it was try to repair it as cheap as possible or do without.

When I find myself saying to myself, "I'm getting too old for this", I answer myself with "Well, I'm doing it, so I must not be too old yet". Yes, I talk to myself...

Thanks fellers,I`m not sure what i``d replace it with they don`t make this stove anymore
Been a good stove for about 25 years but as we know everything wears out and the older we get getting up 15 cords of wood gets harder.
I`m not sure what`s wrong with the hip, it all started when my prostate got enlarged, for a while i couldn`t even walk.
One of these days i`ll go get it checked out. :)

Thanks Nath, it`s been sore for almost a year, the prostate is still inflamed and i think the inflammation moved to the hip joint.

Ask AJMD429 about it. In the Medical Professions we must learn to see and hear things which would normally scar our minds for life. We learn to put it in a portion of the mind that has no personal feelings, or we go crazy. AJMD429, myself, and the others on here who routinely see and hear about TMI are able to compartmentalize. Being a little crazy prevents us from going insane. HIPAA and other laws prevent us from telling, but OH MY what stories we could have if only we could tell. HIPAA, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, was written by Ted Kennedy for a woman who was caught cheating on her husband through medical records. Prior to the HIPAA law, the primary holder on the insurance could obtain all information on anyone covered under their policy. OK, enough rambling.
