I have six 39A's, so I've been thinning the herd a little. I only need one, but am keeping 3. I consigned a fairly nice 1940 "B", to Jack the Dog, and it should be listed tomorrow.
Wildmanh was looking for a "shooter" and I had a 1946 ("C") shooter that I was willing to part with. He didn't want it, so Pharmseller jumped at the opportunity.
I think he's going to be happy. He lives a little bit south, so he's going to meet up with me some time next week.
It had some extraction problems, with Wolf MT (thin case rims), but it sure liked CCI MiniMags. 10-shot group
I'm really looking forward to this 39A. I joined the "mountie" club a while ago:
With this 1957 (I think) version.
She shoots like a dream.
My dad was born in 1938, so he was 8 when the soon-to-be-mine mountie was made. About the right age for a .22, don't you think? His birthday is coming up in July. I wonder what I should get him...

My Mountie is the same vintage, 1957. And it is definitely more accurate than I am.
Right now I'm looking for a beater 39a myself. I plan on removing the front ramp and dovetailing for a post sight.
Hopefully it'll have as nice a stock as the one you're getting..
When I got the rifle the wood was "painted"! It took a while to strip it off and out of all the pores. Once the wood was clean I saw how nice the grain was and it really popped out, with the Tru-Oil.
jdad, That rifle is lovely! Wish I had had the cash, but it just wasn't going to happen. Glad it found a good home and thanks for the pictures! Looks like Pharmseller gets a great Rifle.
P.S. Someone painted that wood? Thats just downright wrong!!
