I need to get cracking on my gun-cleaning list. After that, a bunch of reloading and some casting. That is if I can catch a break. I thought the mandatory travel ban (for me) for the next 6 weeks would free up oodles of time. Boy was I wrong! It has been busier than all get-out work-wise. Situation changes hourly. Today was the first day I didn't have 6 or more teleconferences! I sure hope I get to enjoy some family time given this mess!
If enough of us would put together guns or reload a bunch, the Dems would have this Corona Virus thing over in a week.

Loaded 500 rounds of 32 H&R last night and I think I might actually finish restocking the 99 savage.Been putting a thin coat of Linseed oil on everynight and letting it sit by the wood stove. Social distancing comes natural for me. Spent Sunday afternoon cutting firewood.
Shoots good. Didn't like the 77 grain Match ammo but chewed up the 55s and 62 grain bullets. It's not one of my Colt's or Whindham's but for a snap together it will do..

I find that in recent years as long as you use good quality components, most any thrown together AR will be a reliable and accurate rifle.
The AR15 has come farther in the last 15 years than in all the years before. Twenty years ago I laughed at them, now I trust them as much as anything.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

I just love the little 32 caliber stuff....
My only 32 H&R is a cylinder for a Buckeye Ruger Conversion, and as I have a couple 32-20 rifles, I use the 32-20 cylinder way more.....however......not near enough.... 500 rounds would last me a couple years. I need to rectify that this summer if possible....!

PillHer has a .327 Mag revolver and a lever gun in the same. Both shoot nice. I like my .32 Special model 94. We need to blood all 3 guns. Nothing but targets so far. They are the totality of my experience with 32 caliber.

I haven’t put any guns together but I have swapped some scopes ect and made a few hundreds of these in 358,430, and 460FFDE1FEC-7EC7-4835-9039-81F0AC1E9250.jpeg221BE0D0-33F2-4B6D-A4FE-F4353BFD4549.jpegD122976C-34B8-4E2A-8496-4A6B7E652FFA.jpeg
Those hollow points look wicked!

That is a pretty big hollow, and 5 pointed instead of round. How is it for accuracy?
I need to get some time put in on the reloading bench. Now that my cough is almost gone, I won't be blowing the gunpowder everywhere. I need to try my hand again at annealing some 30-30 brass and making it 32 Special. I have a good start at enough 30-30 brass, and at the middle of the road velocities I use with IMR 3031 powder, the brass seems to last forever. I have only lost 3 pieces in 20 years, and those due to my errors in the reloading process. Mangling a case mouth is easy to do if you do not pay attention. Kind of makes me upset with myself when it happens as it is avoidable. Anyway, I am only at around 20 years of reloading, so I am still new to it when compared to most of the old hands on here. Getting the accuracy that beats factory is a real treat.

I was hoping to do some reloading today, but the office lady was trying to get some month end updates out of me. I hate making notes in our system, but know it's a necessary evil. I just remembered another one, rats! Have to do that and get on to making dinner and helping out. Blondies bank hasn't closed completely, they are still doing drive through and ATM stuff. One person at a time in the lobby , by appointment.

I worked on a DP Pattern 14 Enfield yesterday. Friend Tom Jackson in Iowa rebarelled it with a brand new Criterion barrel in the original .303 British, 1:10 left=hand twist.
Hope to shoot this in a military match with the Sierra 174-grain HPBT MatchKings.

Bill,
That's my favorite bullet for the .303! It's always been very accurate out of my Enfields. There's a vintage rifle match at Camp Perry and I've been trying to get up there for a couple of years. Maybe this summer.
