Trouble at the Range Overcome!

Went to the range early this AM ... nice morning .. cool breeze. Wanted to chronograph some levergun loads.
At the range I discovered I forgot the tripod!
Oh well .. I will try to loads on targets at 50 yards.
Got set up .. shot the first target... NO TRIPOD .. NO SPOTTING SCOPE!

I think I am coming down with CRS!

But them some brain cells connected for a brief moment and I remembered I had my digital camera with me. It has a 16X zoom!

Rest the camera on the rifle rest, zoom in, shoot the photo ... look at the photo and use the zoom to enlarge it and there they are! Bullet holes! Not all where they were supposed to be ... but I could see them.

Spent the next hour shooting both the levergun and the camera!

Since I keep my spotting scope tripod etc in the back seat of the truck “so far” I’ve not had that issue

Watch that!
In extreme high temps the pressure in the scope can expell the gas, later in extreme cold air can be drawn back in.

The camera seems like a good idea. PillHer wouldn't allow me to get one of those young girls anyway, so I just leave those to others. She allows me to get guns and stuff for the guns, to hunt, and to fish. I am better off keeping her happy.

I have seen lenses that can be attached to your camera lens for extra magnification. They might work.

yep! I used a map to get my kids. without it,I was lost all the time, and still be without kids

I don't have a good/reliable/up-to-date camera.

To solve this "I-left-it-at-home" problem, I load the van the night before with what I will need at the range the next day. Since the van is garaged, no concerns about a break-in. Then I load the rifle(s) and spotting 'scope on the shop cart and wheel it into the house. So the next morning all I need to do is fill the lunch box, then place it, the rifle(s), and spotting 'scope into the van. Returning home from the range, I then unload the van in reverse order. I have a shop-fabricated wooden cart that holds all of my range gear which except for ammunition and cleaning rod, remains the same.

I did this after being rushed to load the van in the morning due to unforeseen delays leaving the house and invariably I would leave something at home.
